Richland is one of the few public courses in the Frederick area running bent grass on tees, fairways, and greens — a surface typically reserved for private clubs.
Water comes into play on six holes, demanding accuracy and course management. The 15th hole, a par-3 over water to an island green, has been featured in regional golf publications.
